Iftikhar-mulk Chishti taught the theory of design at the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi where he graduated from in 1975. Convenor of Design X Design and the founder of Studio iF, his activities including a practice in architecture extend to installations, theatre and film making, a subject which he studied during a three year period in Paris in the late seventies.
Verendra Wakhloo graduated from University of Karlsruhe in 1985 in Town Planning and has been part of the academic faculty at the University School of Architecture & Planning Delhi (1991-2001). He established his studio Matra in 1990 in New Delhi with 2 partners who had earlier worked at B.V. Doshi’s Sangath, Ahmedabad (1986) and at Studio M.N.Ashish Ganju , New Delhi (1987-90). For last three decades the architectural activities of the studio have ranged from institutional to industrial and private residences, mostly built in the northern part of India. In search of an Indian Identity, the formative years of his practice were influenced by the masters of Indian modernism such as Charles Correa, B.V.Doshi and others. Verendra is the curator of India Arch Dialogues and has won numerous awards over the years.
